Precious memories, how they linger
How they ever flood my soul
In the stillness of midnight
Precious, sacred scenes unfold.
Dear Bunmi,
Everytime I close my eyes, I see your smile. I think that is what memory I will hold closest to me. The way it spread across your face and the heart filled laugh that always followed. It was always a contagious sound and it made others join in. That’s the effect you had on people. The first time I saw you was a in picture on the wall at Jide’s house in Atlanta. I commented on how pretty you were. Jide said “Pretty? She is beautiful”. I agreed.
I am amazed by the way you selflessly helped other people any chance that you would get. I witnessed you travel all over the world to help friends and family that were in need. And even when the favor may not have been returned, you always shrugged your shoulders and said you did what God told you to do.
I admire your energy. You could be in one country on Friday, another on Tuesday and back in Nigeria for a meeting by Saturday. And on each of these stops, you made sure you shopped until you dropped! Yet, you still made time for exercise and healthy eating. Also, the marathon runs and long church services. I don’t think I ever saw you really rest. You were always on the go. That endurance was commendable and something to be appreciated.
I applaud your love for your family. You did any and everything you could to make sure they were comfortable and happy, even if it meant sacrificing your own time, money or self. If they were in need, you would not hesitate to stand by their side. You were proud of the fact that you were raised as a close knit family and that you had a duty to them as their oldest sibling to make sure they were all ok.
I appreciate you for being so helpful throughout the years. The best memory I have of you was when Jide and I got married in Jamaica. You ushered me down the aisle to meet my groom. Before we started, you said “Ready MissyAmber?” with that big smile spread across your face. We danced and laughed the whole way down the aisle. That was an amazing day and I am glad you were by my side to experience it.
I adore your love for my children. They were always excited when you called. They enjoyed the surprise gifts you sent in the mail and through whomever was traveling to the US. They prayed for your every single night. Your love radiates on to them and we will be sure to make sure they always remember you.
You were affectionate. Always willing to give hugs, a listening ear and words of advice. Those qualities together are odd to find in one person. That’s an amazing gift that is only God ordained.
Sister, you will be missed. But you fought a fight like I’ve never seen before. I already know Jesus greeted you with open arms and as God adorns your head with a personalized crown as I am sure he whispered to you- “No need to introduce yourself. I already know you. Well done my good and faithful servant!”
We will see each other again. I will bring the oysters, you bring the wine.
Love You Auntie Bunmi,
Amber AKA “MissyAmber”

Dear RT, we've been friends for almost 10 years, but I only met you once. You brought so much joy to the TSP as a group and people as a whole. This was evident in the way money was raised for your treatments last year. You'll never be forgotten Bunmi. You lived life to the fullest. A true diva. God bless you and rest your soul. May He also stand with your family in these trying times, Amen.

Oh my!!! I'm shocked. It's too soon. I thought you were beating this. Alas. God called you to his side. But you've left a big hole here. I'm going to miss you so. Loll. Everytime I see a flag I'll think of you. Till we meet again.
